• Starting salary of £18,500/year during a 3-month probationary period, rising automatically to £20,000/year on successful passing of the probationary period — based on the Bournemouth area market rate for a 4-day week

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll work alongside the salon owner for most of the year — building your own loyal client base, delivering exceptional hair services, and becoming a trusted face at Little Paris. We’re a 5-star rated salon offering Hair, Nails and Beauty services, and client experience sits at the heart of everything we do: every appointment is an opportunity to make someone’s day, and we expect that standard in every interaction.

For planned periods each year, you’ll take the lead and run the salon solo. You’ll manage client bookings, deliver services to your own and the salon’s regular clients, and keep the salon running smoothly. This is a genuine opportunity to develop your confidence and leadership skills in a supportive setting.

Day-to-day you’ll be:

• Delivering high-quality hair services — cuts, colour, highlights, balayage, treatments
• Building and maintaining your own loyal client base
• Covering client appointments and managing the salon during the owner’s absence
• Delivering a consistently outstanding client experience — from warm greeting to perfect finish — that keeps people coming back
• Contributing to retail product recommendations and client consultations

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’re an experienced stylist — 3 to 5 years in the industry — who is confident working independently and genuinely cares about the people sitting in your chair. You understand that a great haircut is only part of it: the way a client feels throughout their visit, and long after they leave, is what builds a loyal following. You bring warmth, professionalism and real attention to every appointment.

Essential:

• A minimum of 3–5 years of professional hairdressing experience
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Hairdressing (or equivalent)
• Proficiency across cuts, colour, highlights and balayage
• A genuine passion for client experience — you understand that people trust you with how they look and feel, and you take that seriously
• Ability to work independently and manage the salon solo when required
• Commutable distance to Bournemouth BH9 2BJ

Desirable:

• An existing client following you’d bring with you
• Experience using booking platforms such as Treatwell, Fresha or similar
• Interest in nails or beauty treatments (not essential — the owner handles nails)
• Ambition to grow — this role has real scope to develop
